Documentaries on fado singer Aldina Duarte and architect Nuno Teotónio Pereira premiere at international festivals

ALDINA DUARTE – PROMISED PRINCESS, the documentary by Manuel Mozos about one of Portugal’s greatest fado singers of today, will have its international premiere in the competition of FIPA – 23rd International Festival of Audiovisual Programs – Performing Arts section, undeniably the most exciting event devoted to the finest of television fare in the world, taking place in Biarritz, from the 26th until the 31st of January.

For those who love Fado and the charming city of Lisbon this is a must-see gem about a unique a girlish lady, who sings “fado” out of conviction and love, taking us with her across the city of Lisbon, visiting the places she most loves and knows, exposing herself as a generous, lively and unique person...

In Portugal, the film premiered at the last edition of the indepedent film festival –INDIELISBOA,
and is now out in a sucessful special dvd edition, that includes her latest music cd entitled
“Mulheres ao Espelho”.

 

The documentary NUNO TEOTÓNIO PEREIRA – A MAN IN THE CITY, directed by Joana da Cunha Ferreira, will be presented at the Horizons section of the 28th Internacional Festival of Films on Art, taking place in Montreal from March 18 to 28.

Nuno Teotónio Pereira is above all known for his work as an architect. Yet throughout his life, although he never stopped being an architect, he was much more than that... The film is a captivating voyage to the heart of his artistic creation...

After having also its national premiere at INDIELISBOA, the film is now honoured with this international selection for the most important annual event celebrating creativity, innovation and the performance of artists on the big screen.

And London’s TIME OUT film team selected Pedro Costa’s debut feature, BLOOD, as one of the ten best dvd film releases of 2009.
